Introduction

The Gestalt Counselling and Psychotherapy Scheme is intended for those on a low income and is supported by senior trainees in our counselling and psychotherapy programme and supervised by experienced gestalt centre staff. 

 

Before applying, please note that the Gestalt Therapy scheme maintains a waiting list and does not provide psychiatric or crisis intervention support.

 

How to apply

The Gestalt Centre is open Monday to Friday. Sessions are weekly and arranged on the hour for 50 minutes between 9am and 8pm. 

Receipt of your form will be acknowledged, and we will place you on the waiting list. If we require further information, we will contact you as soon as possible.

 

Once a place becomes available one of our trainees will contact you by telephone or email/letter to confirm the time and date of the initial appointment. Please contact the trainee therapist directly to confirm your appointment or to rearrange if you are unable to attend. In the first session you will agree the frequency of sessions and payment arrangements.

 

We do our best to accommodate individual needs, regarding times available for therapy.

 

Commitment

To be considered for a place on the therapy scheme you will need to make a one-year minimum commitment. 

Please note places are limited and in high demand and you are asked to keep us informed of any changes in your circumstances or if you no longer wish to remain on the waiting list.

 

Session fees

There is a reduced fee ranging from £25 to £55 per session.

The application processes.

Once your questionnaire is returned and if appropriate, we will arrange for you to have a consultation meeting, that can be arranged online.

The decision concerning your referral for low fee therapy will be taken by the Clinical Team/lead who consider each application carefully and may make alternative recommendations. If it is decided that this is not the best form of therapy for you other options will be suggested.

Following your initial contact with the scheme and if there is a suitable vacancy, one of trainees will be in contact with you. You will be offered a session with one of senior training therapist. This will provide you with an opportunity to explore your needs and readiness for therapy.

 

Where possible we do our best to accommodate individual needs times available for therapy.

 

Confidentiality
