Find the right route for you

*These are flexible programmes; both begin with a introductory year that many students take as a standalone course – either the Diploma in Professional Development (Psychotherapy) or the Certificate in Humanistic Counselling (Counselling)

If you’re unsure whether to take the Counselling or Psychotherapy route, it’s useful to spend an afternoon at a Gestalt Taster Event – a chance to talk to staff and students from both programmes. Alternatively, you can attend our one-day workshop Introducing Gestalt.

Positives of both programmes

Groupwork is central

This includes a four-day large group event, where we explore community building, managing difference and diversity, group dynamics and the way we relate to others.

Theory + practice

Our experienced staff offer in-depth experiential learning (learning through experiencing and doing) combined with rigorous theoretical thinking.

Flexible, modular structure

These are part-time programmes, designed to fit around you. You pay for one year’s study at a time and we recognise prior learning so you may be able to join at a later stage.

“Learning is the discovery that something is possible.”

Gestalt pioneer, Fritz Perls
