Applications for Main Training are open

We offer two main pathways leading to full BACP or UKCP accreditation as an individual and group trained Gestalt therapist.

Applications for our BACP accredited Diploma in Counselling course commencing in September 2024 are now closed. All other main training courses remain open. Please see individual course pages for details.

Both trainings programmes are flexible, beginning with an introductory year’ training, either a one- year Diploma in Professional Development in Psychotherapy or a one – year Certificate in Humanistic Counselling. Many students take these options as a stand-alone course however, both pathways lead to the opportunity to apply for further training in either a two-year part-time BACP accredited Diploma in Counselling, or our 5-year part-time UKCP accredited psychotherapy training working towards an MA in Gestalt Psychotherapy (awarded by London Metropolitan University) and Psychotherapy Practitioner Diploma.

We offer a range of Introductory events and courses designed to help you explore whether the Counselling or Psychotherapy route is for you. Our one-day online workshop Introducing Gestalt, or our 2 day in-person workshop Gestalt in Action are a great way to find out more about Gestalt theory, practice and our training.

We also run a regular series of Personal Development weekends and 10- week courses which offer an excellent opportunity to experience group work using the Gestalt method over a longer period.

For those considering pursuing Gestalt psychotherapy or counselling as a client or for personal exploration, our Gestalt Taster Event offers a mixture of experience, exploration and information to help you decide if the Gestalt approach is right for you.

All of our main training courses take place in person at our Centre and run part-time across various evening and daytime formats. Full details for each program can be found by following the links above. Please see individual course pages for details.

Positives of both programmes

Groupwork is central

This includes a four-day large group event, where we explore community building, managing difference and diversity, group dynamics and the way we relate to others.

Theory + practice

Our experienced staff offer in-depth experiential learning (learning through experiencing and doing) combined with rigorous theoretical thinking.

Flexible, modular structure

These are part-time programmes, designed to fit around you. You pay for one year’s study at a time and we recognise prior learning so you may be able to join at a later stage.

“Learning is the discovery that something is possible.”

Gestalt pioneer, Fritz Perls
