Each of the psychotherapists on this register is a practitioner member of the Gestalt Centre and thus is registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). UKCP accreditation means that they are fully qualified, covered by professional indemnity insurance and are required to be in regular supervision. Adam Barrett MA (UKCP registered since 2011) is a psychotherapist and supervisor. He particularly embraces the relational and embodiment aspects of Gestalt, integrating training in sensorimotor psychotherapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), mentalization-based treatment, and mindfulness. He is also trained in EMDR, and psychosexual & relationships therapy.
His professional experience includes working as a psychotherapist and group facilitator in the prison service, the London Fire Brigade, and a psychiatric hospital. Adam has extensive experience supporting clients with depression, anxiety disorders, and PTSD/trauma recovery.
A long-time practitioner of Buddhist psychology and meditation, Adam completed an additional MA in Buddhist Studies in 2024, further enriching his integrative therapeutic approach.

Penny Tharratt, MA, is a UKCP registered Gestalt Psychotherapist. She has extensive experience as a therapist, supervisor and teacher/trainer. With a background in the NHS and as a University Lecturer, Penny has contributed to several counselling and psychotherapy trainings over the last 20+ years, and currently works as a therapist the University of Leeds student counselling service. She also has a Psychotherapy and Supervision practice in N.E. Leeds and is experienced in time-limited and longer-term therapy, and EMDR. She works with individuals and groups and is a supervisor for various Counselling organisations.
